D-M performs a variety of data conversions:

• Document Conversions - CIS to Concordance, DocuFind, Summation, Excel, JFS Litigator's Notebook, and WordPerfect
• Media Format Conversions - tape to CD-ROM; diskette to tape
• Image File Conversions - TIFF Group IV to IPRO files, PDF, etc.

Document Conversions

D-M converts from a variety of spreadsheet files, word processing files, and tables to and from formats acceptable to other software packages. During the conversion, at the client's option, D-M performs the following cleanup procedures:

• Standardizes document IDs, which usually involves normalizing numbers of leading zeroes
• Standardizes name spellings, punctuation, and form
• Identifies and standardizes document type variations
• Corrects spellings in text
• Creates an alphabetical table of names and organizations

D-M can create a variety of output formats including ASCII delimited files or tag files. We have extensive experience converting to and from Concordance, Summation, JFS Litigator's Notebook, WordPerfect, WordStar, MSAccess, Excel, Lotus, CIS-FT, and fixed field formats.

Media Format Conversions

If you need data to be moved from one medium to another, D-M has a large and growing variety of tape, disk, and CD-ROM drives. We can move data from old 9-track tape to CD-ROM or to more commonly used tape or diskette formats.

Image File Conversions

D-M provides TIFF IV to IPRO or IPRO to TIFF IV conversions and delivers the resulting files on a CD-ROM according to client specifications. We also convert image files from one format to another, or to image-based PDF files. By performing OCR, we can convert image files to text, HTML, or text-based PDF files, as you prefer. We also handle the special requirements demanded by electronic evidence.

Blowbacks

D-M produces blowbacks of IPRO, TIFF Group 3 or Group 4 or PDF and other image files. In addition, D-M produces reports for use in litigation, quality control, planning, communication, and a variety of other purposes, from databases developed at D-M or elsewhere. Our printers produce 30 to 35 pages per minute at standard (8-1/2" x 11") format, or about 20 pages per minute at large (11" x 17") formats. If blowbacks are needed immediately, we can print the images at our office in Davis, California, and ship the copies overnight to the appropriate location.
